Step 1: Think of 3-5 companies(preferably in different industries) that you are interested in, look them up and add them to the stock app on your iPhone or if you own an Android download a comparable stock app and follow the same process
Step 2: Read 1-2 articles a day on the 3-5 stocks you select to stay up to date with the company. Articles on your company can be easily found by clicking on its ticker symbol in the Apple stock app
Step 3(The Takeaway): After a week you will learn how to follow stocks through the stock app and come to an understanding of a crucial aspect of the investing process: to stay up to date with news about the company you are investing in. With this in mind, when you are looking into a stock you want to become an expert on the industry-the big picture, the stock-company you are investing in, and its competitors- starting with its top three. We'll dive into this part next week!
So this may be your first time becoming acquainted with learning how to invest in the stock market, which seems like something that is extremely complex to learn. This is one of the biggest myths of investing. At age 16 during my sophomore year of high school I walked into my first business course knowing nothing about the stock market. I didn't even know what a stock was. 6 months later, I was investing in the market purchasing stocks and ETFs with real money. I didn't learn how to invest in any complex way and through this blog I will teach you the steps I went about to learn how to understand the stock market. A certain amount of the investing process is learning by doing. So if you felt discouraged before about embarking on a journey into a world of investing, hopefully now you know anyone is capable of learning how to invest in the stock market.
